It should include essential supplies like food, water, flashlights, batteries, medicine, extra clothing and shoes, toiletries and even solar-powered chargers for electronic devices. More than 30,000 people were left without power in Middle Tennessee as of 9 p.m. "Decent light show in southern Murfreesboro/Christiana TN tonight," Teresa Taylor of Murfreesboro posted on Twitter, as she shared photos of lightning snaking across the sky. Williamson and Rutherford counties were placed under tornado warnings, though no tornado was reported before it expired. The advisory, along with rain, ended early Thursday morning. Overcast skies gave way to sunshine and highs in the 60s are expected throughout the day, NWS said.ĭavidson County and surrounding counties were placed under a tornado watch about 5 p.m. Meteorologists warned the main threat would be damaging wind gusts, but didn't rule out the possibility for a tornado. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Wednesday morning and Nashville International Airport reported nearly 65 mph gusts around 8 p.m. Severe storms left downed trees and knocked out power to over 30,000 customers, but spared Middle Tennessee tornadoes Wednesday night.
